All other details are to be announced for next year. Lets make 2010 the biggest event we have ever seen. I would love to try and get 60 HOOD members present for next year. It would be cool to have HOODIES from out of town come in. Make your plans now, get work off, save your money. Consider this your 361 day notice for next year. The Dead Gentlemen will be back next year. We have Michael Whelan as are GoH! Holy CRAP! 1/2 of our guests want to come back as pro's any any opporunity they have. Speaking of Guests and Pro's, Alan Boyle, John Picacio and Dean (Kathy Mar's husband) all wore their HOOD shirts to closing ceremonies.... I'll probably be even busier with Con related things next year -- but other Fans were impressed with the sheer number of ClanHOOD present at the Con. SpoCon 2010 has a couple of announcements ... 1 - SpoCon 2010 has been named a National Qualifier for Warhammer 40K championship. This is a "big deal" in the gaming circuit and should bring in quite a few more gamers to the festivities. Here's a link to more information at the Games Workshop site: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/conte ... d=14700053 2 - Seanan McGuire has accepted as the 2010 Filk Guest: She is a singer, songwriter, artist, and an accomplished writer and we are giddy as all get out to have her as part of the SpoCon family. Website: http://www.seananmcguire.com/ 3 - A fan favorite, Dead Gentlemen Productions are coming back to SpoCon 2010 in full force as the 2010 Media Guests! The fun, creativity, and awesomeness will somehow need to be scheduled and contained over a three day period. It can be done! Website: http://deadgentlemen.com/ Much more is in the works for a great 2010 event! There will be some changes to the Mad Marmot Social Club (space issues) but it will be for the better (we hope?). I am sure you'll all be hit up for use of your gaming rigs for the LAN Gaming, and if any of you are interested in helping out in other areas let me know. One place we would appreciate input is in the programming --- coming up with ideas for panels, events, activities. I will still be at SpoCon 2010 as [HOOD], and helping out as a volunteer - primarily with Guest Relations. Will be rather busy, but more available than in years past. Schedule is subject to change, well go with this for now... Im not sure about the Mad Marmot lounge, we may end up doing that somewhere else. Also, I can not afford the jager myself, so if you can, please bring some cash with you so that [HOOD]-Duece can run to the store and make us our mix (if hes still willing). Also Brusky will be bringing the 2010 stars for your HOOD SPOCON shirts, and a press to put them on, so wear them if you got them (I didn't get any orders for any new shirts off the site, but I might have some regular HOOD shirts and hats left that I will bring if anyone wants them). We have no nominations for the HOOD PATMANN ACHIEVMENT AWARD. Epic fail on my part. Send me your nominations via PM Message. Most nominations wins! We will announce on Saturday night at the [HOOD] Bullblaster Gathering. For those of you that do not know: Quote: The Patmann achievement award was created in honor of [HOOD]-Patmann. Once a year at SpoCon - HOODFEST a member of Clan HOOD will receive the 'HOOD-Patmann Achievement Award' in his honor. The member chosen will be voted on by all members in HOOD, and a plaque will be shipped to them, or given out in person at SpoCon - HOODFEST. Nominations will start June 1, 2010. [HOOD]-Patmann joined HOOD in 2003. We met him in the online game Lineage 2. We found him outside a dungeon pvping against some other players. In Lineage 2 if your character dies you have a chance of dropping your weapons and equipment. Patmann was in another clan at the time and had given his stuff to another clan mate to hold (so he would lose them if he died). Unfortunately this person decided to screw him over and kept his items. HOOD showed up at the scene and tried to help him get his things back but to no avail. Our relationship with Patmann began, and at that moment he joined HOOD. Since that time so many years ago, [HOOD]-Patmann become an incredible viable person in HOOD through Lineage 2 and later on in the World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, and in our online community. The relationships and hearts he touched spread throughout many of our members and we are saddened that he is no longer with us. From this day forth the date of October 14th, the day he moved into a new world, will always be deemed an official [HOOD] holiday in remembrance of our fallen comrade [HOOD]-Patmann. We love you and miss you. _________________
