Spocon - HOODFEST

Every year Clan HOOD holds an annual get together at the yearly event Spocon, Spokane's Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention. It is three days of lan gaming and fun. All HOOD members are welcome to join in. As a HOOD member you will recieve a discount ($10 off) on your registration if you register early. In addition, HOOD is also the official sponsor of the LAN gaming room, and we are looking for members to donate computers for use. Those donating computer rigs will recieve an even more ($20 off) discount on registration.

We hope you can all make it this years HOODFEST. Below is more information on what will be happening.

Spocon - HOODFEST - Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers to man the LAN gaming room during Spocon. You will be needed to help guests find and use gaming machines and answer any questions that may arise. We desperately need to fill these positions. In return you will be given a discount on your Spocon registration ($10 off). Before you register for SpoCon, please choose a time you can volunteer for and we will email you a special code to claim your discount.

Spocon - HOODFEST - Computer Donation

We are looking for computers to be donated for the LAN gaming room. The Lan gaming room will be monitored throughout Spocon by HOOD members. The computers will be used for LAN gaming tournament participants as well as by the general public for open gaming.  As a thank you for letting Spocon use your computer for the weekend, you get a reduced membership cost ($20 off). This membership rate is going to be cheaper than the ClanHOOD group rate, so if you're wanting to save some money, this would be a good opportunity. You also get the satisfaction of knowing that you're a part of one of the best cons in the Northwest.

Be sure your computer is free of all viruses before the event begins. This is extremely important. Make sure you've got the latest patches installed for your operating system and that you've scanned your computer for viruses and other malware. If you do not have an anti-virus program on your machine, here are links to some free ones:

You will want to create a Spocon limited user account on the machine. This will make it so people can't install things or mess with your files. You will also either need to leave the administrator password with me or create a SpoconAdmin account on your machine with administrative access. Only Spocon LAN staff will have that information and will only use it to install games that will be used for the weekend.

Spocon - HOODFEST - HOOD Patmann Achievement Award

The Patmann achievement award was created in honor of [HOOD]-Patmann. Once a year at SpoCon - HOODFEST a member of Clan HOOD will receive the 'HOOD-Patmann Achievement Award' in his honor. The member chosen will be voted on by all members in HOOD, and a plaque will be shipped to them, or given out in person at SpoCon - HOODFEST.  Nominations will start June 1, 2010. [HOOD]-Patmann joined HOOD in 2003. We met him in the online game Lineage 2. We found him outside a dungeon pvping against some other players. In Lineage 2 if your character dies you have a chance of dropping your weapons and equipment. Patmann was in another clan at the time and had given his stuff to another clan mate to hold (so he would lose them if he died). Unfortunately this person decided to screw him over and kept his items. HOOD showed up at the scene and tried to help him get his things back but to no avail. Our relationship with Patmann began, and at that moment he joined HOOD.

Since that time so many years ago, [HOOD]-Patmann become an incredible viable person in HOOD through Lineage 2 and later on in the World of Warcraft, Battlefield 2, and in our online community. The relationships and hearts he touched spread throughout many of our members and we are saddened that he is no longer with us. From this day forth the date of October 14th, the day he moved into a new world, will always be deemed an official [HOOD] holiday in remembrance of our fallen comrade [HOOD]-Patmann. We love you and miss you.
